Haylands has been providing care in the community for over 54 years and has an exceptional reputation. Our gentleman look upon Haylands as their home, which is exactly the feeling you get as you walk through the front door - a happy place with lots going on, and a place where friends and family are always welcome to visit, and perhaps share a cup of tea and a slice of delicious homemade cake in one of our pleasant sitting areas.
Here at Haylands we recognise and understand that our gentlemen have differing needs, some of which are quite specialised and, as such, we offer different levels of care, tailored to them from their personalised care plans.
We provide residential, respite, palliative and dementia care, and with a maximum capacity of 24 gentlemen, we consider ourselves still small enough to maintain that personal touch. Some of our gentlemen have been with us for many years and we consider them to be very much a part of our family.
Our highly trained and dedicated team are committed to providing the highest standards of care in our home from home environment.
Meal times are a very important part of the gentlemen’s day, and our days start with the option of a full English breakfast!
We are very proud of our 5* rated kitchen from which we serve our home-made meals at properly dressed tables.
Within our sunny dining room they even have their own bar whch houses their favourite glass and tipple!
In addition we have 2 lovely comfy lounges with large screen TVs where our residents can enjoy movies and sports.
Outside we have a large and sunny garden complete with decorative pond and a variety of sitting areas,
including a well used and much loved summer house where there’s usually a card game going on!
Our residents enjoy a varied and frequent entertainment programme, including our ever popular home safari visits, where they can experience and interact with a variety of fun animals, the Meerkats being a firm favourite! In fact, we have our very own little home safari going on in the form of 2 large Maine Coon cats, both mother and son, who I’m very pleased to say are very friendly and love a fuss! We have exercise classes, singers, social outings and, weather allowing BBQ’s.
Our gentleman can also enjoy the convenience of having such services as hairdressing and chiropody visits. We are very proud of Haylands, and of the team that provide the care it gives, in which our residents can maintain their independence and dignity and enjoy the highest quality of life.
